Silver TV Aerial and Satellite was established over 30 years ago, and as you will see below, some of the team have been with us for almost as long. Our staff have a combined experience of over 150 years in the industry.
Graeme MacMaster – Silver TV - Technical Director
Graeme served his time as a TV Engineer, and qualified in his early 20s. Since then he has had a successful career in the industry – Graeme was an Field Operations Manager with ntl (now Virgin Media) until recently. In addition to Graeme's commitments to Silver TV, he also has an involvement with offshore work flying Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
Alastair MacMaster – Silver TV - Business Development Director
Alastair joined the Royal Navy at 18, and left 15 years later as a Chief Weapons Engineer Artificer. After this he started a second career in the Cable TV industry and became involved in building CATV Headends, Digital TV infrastructure and data networks. Alastair now assists Silver TV as Business Development Director.
Carol McCreadie –Silver TV - General Manager
Carol joined Silver TV 8 years ago. She is now extremely successful in managing the entire business on a day to day basis. In addition to having responsibility for office management duties Carol looks after all of the companies Commercial Customers. Carol admits that the job has its challenges, but that’s what makes it so interesting. The most rewarding moments are when a delighted customer calls in to thank one of the team for a job well done.
Gordon Allan – Silver TV - Field Operations Manager
Gordon has been with Silver continuously for the past 28 years. He joined in the days when there were only 3 channels and received from either the Blackhill or Ulster transmitters. Now Gordon is at the forefront of technology in Satellite and Digital terrestrial TV installations. As Field Ops Manager, Gordon keeps his team of skilled engineers both happy and busy, allocating and prioritising their workload. In addition, Gordon is often engaged in compiling quotations for Silver TV's many commercial customers. Gordon sets high standards and expects his team to follow. He says: "I've installed more that 30,000 aerials and satellite dishes in the West of Scotland, some days its sunshine and warm, other times it rains, but it’s the best job in the world for me".
Tom McKinnie - Silver TV - Installations Specialist
Tom has 12 years loyal service, and is motivated each day by providing a quality service. I like to do a good job – I am always so pleased when a customer is happy with the job I've done, and takes the time to thank me personally, or call in to the office.
Craig Nicol - Silver TV - Installations Specialist
Craig has been with Silver TV for the past 14 years, and covered every aspect of the job. He covers everything, from large commercial installations which can last months, to smaller domestic jobs which are normally completed within the hour.
Stephen Fleming - Silver TV - Installations Specialist
Stephen is one of the younger team members with a meer 12 years in the business. Stephen prides himself in the quality of his work. This is reflected in his focus in getting the job completed to the highest standards in a safe and efficient manner.
Andrew Burn - Silver TV - Electronics Repair Specialist
I've been with Silver TV for the past 21 years, in the days of valves, and black and white TVs. Betamax was still on the go too! I started work here as a driver installer, delivering, installing and demonstrating TVs & VCRs. Today, it has changed to Plasma, LCD and now the new LED TVs! I qualified for electronic servicing at Glasgow’s Cardonald Technical College and have kept up-to date by attending manufacturers’ training courses. I enjoy the interests and challenge of new lines of work – eg musical keyboard servicing – as well as keeping abreast of developments with existing products. I occasionally repair some very old products (‘vintage’ some would say), it’s really satisfying to bring new life into older equipment. It’s always good to get to know people through working in the area where I live. I’m pleased to help with enquiries about any type of electronic servicing.
Katherine Morran - Silver TV - Administration Assistant
Katherine has been with Silver TV for the past 9 years, and its normally her friendly voice our customers hear on the telephone. Katherine says "It can be a bit of a juggling act at times to make sure we can provide an Installations Specialist at the requested time. Its very satisfying when a customer sends a letter or calls in to say thanks for such a good job. It's a team effort here and I'm well supported by the others. We all like it here - that's why we've been here so long....."
